Burt's  Trip to Mount Desert Island in Maine Labor Day Week 2007

Now I somehow think a car could have parked in that spot. However I wonder how many people might need that spot as believe me Bubble Rock is hardly handicap accessible.

On my final day I rented a scooter.

I finally saw a wild animal

I came upon this picnic area thinking it was a beautiful spot.

This, after a half mile road, is the ENTIRE picnic area. One table, one grill, two parking spaces.

My RV (Lexington) and ham radio antenna.

I stayed at the KOA campground in Bar Harbor. These are the KOA police. They inspect the KOA franchise campgrounds to be sure they meet high standards. I have camped at several KOA campgrounds, I have yet to find one that was not well maintained. Safety is their most important concern. It costs up to $20,000 to get the franchise. If the owner fails the inspection they have to take a shower at the non-KOA campground on Saco River in New Hampshire. That campground had nice owners but dirty showers and dumpsters open and overflowing at the campground entrance.

What I saw from my RV.
