As I walked through the "Old City" in Bern I was looking for the tourist bureau, I was told to BEAR right, and right outside the bureau was the bear den with a bear literally begging for food. Legend has it that when Bern was founded on the Aare peninsula in the 12th century, it was named after the first animal killed there: a bear.
This is Switzerland's version of an SUV.
After the 1405 fire that destroyed its predominantly wooden structures, the city was rebuilt in sandstone, with arcades stretching on for some 6 km (4 mi).
You can just never find the time in Switzerland.
A typical look at Bern.
My train from Bern to Lucerne was due to leave at 5:55 PM. At 5:55 it was not there, I had to wait to 5:56. This was an unheard of delay
The last supper, when I got back to Lucerne, Samantha and I went to an Italian restaurant.
Security at the airport in Amsterdam, not only do you to walk 40,000 miles to get to your gate but for a 2:15 flight to Boston, you had to be there at 12:15 for a super security check.
