Burt's 2005 Visit to France

We went to Villedieu-les-Poêles where copper was important, why I do not know

One of the typical shops in Villedieu-les-Poeles, one woman from Oklahoma knocked a prized item off the wall but she said she was from Oklahoma and was forgiven.

This it St Malo, a walled city, the tides here run up to 40 feet, clearly this is low tide. Out hotel was inside the wall.

There are a lot of sea gulls here, as you can see one of our group was very poopular with the birds.

At high tide there is no access to the castle in the distance. However if you get trapped it can be a 6 hour wait as the tides come in fast, you can get rescued but it will cost you over $100.

Our hotel, finally air conditioning but we did not need it as temperatures were in the 60s.

Another damn wine tasting, how about a chocolate tasting? What you can't tell is the wine is cold, the air is cold and the wind about 40 MPH.

St. Malo at 10:30 PM, all times in Europe are 6 hours ahead of EDST and time here is in 24 hour format 2230.

Too bad the French could not do this to the Germans.

Now a tasting here might not be a bad idea? There was this big chocolate cake I missed out on, if I only followed Jim.

In St. Malo you never know when you will need a condom. Note the juxtaposition. My school gives them out free, but you need a pass to get them, next you will be able to use them in school.

A visit to Mont-St.-Michel, a monastery, our local guide, once again had a thick accent. Out group tour guide also had an accent but he was clearly understandable.

This was the dining hall where the monks ate. Very much like our cafeteria at school, the only difference the monks ate in silence. Note the recessed windows.
