This is Sturgeon Falls in Canada (we were the only ones in the Chinese restaurant). We took the Canadian route to Canada rather than what AAA advised through Ohio, Indiana Illinois etc. As it turned out we came back through the other route. The Canadian route was much better for scenery, no tolls, and virtually no traffic plus costs we lower for everything except gas. In Michigan I ran out of gas, it appears the gauge was inaccurate but I carried a small tank with me. Also carried two spare  tires and extra oil (used the oil).

We headed across Michigan where it rained almost all day (the only bad weather we had until we came back to Cape Cod). This is Lake Superior, it was in the high 50s.

We rested in Ironwood Michigan. The motel was only $30 but when we asked the owner where we could eat he said this was "meat and potatoes country", poison to April as she is a Vegetarian. We wound up eating at "Country Kitchen". a low point of restaurants for April.

The Ironwood theatre, no longer used for movies, one third of the town was inside watching a play. The owner talked to us and gave us the history of the evolution of  this old theatre

In Ironwood we saw our first wildlife. This is a deer, looks further than it was.

Ironwood claimed the tallest Indian in the world. On our way back we went through a small Canadian town that had the tallest Teepee
